Spring Coats: The Essential Layer

Spring is officially here and we are oh so ready to stash away our bulky, overused winter wear. And even though we might be tempted to ditch the outerwear altogether, spring weather can be very fickle and the chill will probably be in the air for a few more weeks to come. 

Luckily the stores are filled with lots of stylish statement jackets and coats that scream “Spring is Here!” and still keep us cozy  — but which one should you buy? Here at beckie+martina we don’t think there is any “one perfect coat” for Spring. In our experience, having options in the jacket/coat category, each with it’s own unique job, is as important as any other. We also think this top layer should be both useful and beautiful. So when taking inventory of your spring jackets and coat situation this season, consider these:

• A jean or short leather/suede jacket

• A classic waterproof trench

• Some kind of bold, versatile blazer

• A fun lightweight coat that enhances as well as covers and keeps you warm

With all the amazing patterns and colors in the stores right now, you can’t go wrong with any one of these – and, if you can, consider adding more than one to your Spring coat collection this year!
